Our client in the telecom industry is looking for an IT Infrastructure Manager for their office based in the southern suburbs, Cape Town.
Responsibilities:
Manage customer relationships.
Ensure that customer inquiries are answered in a timely manner.
Ensure that commercial product and service offerings remain competitive and in line with market-related offerings.
Staff Administration:
General management of the IT department.
Schedule technicians for installations and site visits.
Provide orientation and task assignment to staff.
Identify training needs, motivate and elevate staff.
Write, review and implement IT policies and procedures for the organization.
Make sure staff adhere to standard operating procedures.
MMR/Node Rooms
Manage new ISP builds.
Periodic reports on the state of health of the infrastructure.
Identification and planning of network infrastructure upgrades and their implementation.
Make sure the scheduled changes are carried out and completed.
Research new infrastructure hardware on an ongoing basis that could improve both the business and customers and provide reports.
Last mile facilities:
Management of last mile fiber optic facilities.
Project management of fiber projects.
Design, installations and commissioning of new construction.
Wireless installations.
Management of wireless installations.
Management of wireless deployment projects.
Design, installations and commissioning of new construction.
Requirements:
Verifiable work experience in a similar position.
ISP or telecom experience, administration and good knowledge of fiber node rooms and wireless high sites.
Project management experience is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Proven organization and management skills.
Customer Service Oriented – Ensuring corporate and residential customers are happy.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Leadership skills.
Driven by deadlines.
Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated.
Ability to pass on technical knowledge, liaise with vendors and deal with issues proactively.
A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent will be valued.
Beneficial Mikrotik qualification.
Beneficial wireless certificate.
You must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
Salary:
R60,000 CTC per month.
