Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and professional event host or public relations officer to assist with the upcoming welcoming event. Premier Panyaza Lesufi will introduce and address the newly appointed Crime Prevention Wardens at this event, which aims to enhance security throughout Gauteng and reinforce the province’s commitment to community safety.

Calling all young, fit and agile persons willing to fight crime in their areas of Eesterus, Eldorado Park, Coronationville, Riverlea, Westbury, Sophiatown, Ennerdale, Toekomsrus, Rustervaal, Lenasia, Laudium, Reiger Park and many more.

Requirements: Grade 12. Fit and agile. Driver’s license and prior safety and security training will be an added advantage. Participation in the department’s volunteer programmes will be an added advantage.

Recruitment services

No criminal record or any pending cases. Be prepared to undergo training in both theory and physical (fitness) training. Be prepared to work a 24/7 shift system.

Knowledge and Skills Communication (verbal and written)

Duties

  • crime prevention, stop and search, arrest, attending to complaints, maintaining law and order, and traffic control. Under supervision during training. Serve as the main point of contact and coordinator for all event-related activities, including liaising with Premier Lesufi’s team and the Crime Prevention Wardens. Help in managing and overseeing the logistics of the welcoming event (location, setup, and attendee coordination).Draft and disseminate press releases, media alerts, and invitations to local media outlets and Work closely with security personnel to ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to during the event.
  • Act as an emcee or facilitator during the event, introducing key speakers and maintaining the flow of activities Coordinate post-event coverage, including media interactions, interviews, and press conferences if needed.

Crime prevention jobs

Applications should be submitted using the new Z83 form, obtainable from any Public Service Department or on the internet at www.dpsa.gov.za/documents. The fully completed and signed new Z83 form should be accompanied by a recently updated comprehensive CV that specifies the previous or current volunteer participation. Matric Certificate, Identity Document, and Proof of Residence. (only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications.).

Please clearly specify the ward number (Gauteng Township, Informal Settlement, and Hostels) next to the reference number. Should the applicant be in possession of a foreign qualification, the application must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).

Candidates who do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements, as well as applications received late, will not be considered. Failure to submit all the requested documents will result in the application not being considered. Correspondence will be limited to short-listed candidates only. All shortlisted candidates will be subjected to a technical & physical assessment that intends to test the level of fitness relevant to the job.
