Position: Internal Sales – Estimator – Cargo and Logistics

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of Grade 12/Matric.
Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain Management NQF 5 or similar would be an advantage.
A minimum work experience of three to five years in the sector will be valued.
Proof of training in Incoterms is essential.
Serious about a career in the industry.
Ability to work non-sociable hours when required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include – Not limited to)

Customer verification before listing
Use internet/website tools for online verification of clients business: registered clearing and forwarding agent to comply with neutrality policy.
Compliance with Policies and Procedures by…
Acknowledge receipt and respond to budget requests within 1 working hour of receipt.
Run FOB estimates within 2 business hours of receipt. EXW / DAP / estimate / is dangerous within 24-48 hours after receipt of the request, depending on the complexity of the estimate requirements.
Special rate negotiations with agents and service providers will be documented, finalized and shared via One Drive.
Adhere to the follow-up process for the quote(s), i.e. within 48-72 hours of sharing the quote(s) with the client.
Forwarding support when needed.

The online estimate status will become Accepted/Not Accepted/Pending: Please investigate the specific results in terms of the Not Accepted status.
Estimate report with relevant details to be generated and shared with Sales and Management, such as base of potential leads and sales earnings.
Estimate feedback report to be completed by the 3rd business day of the new month and shared with the Operations Manager/Branch Manager.

You must have a solid knowledge and understanding of the practices and processes within the Ocean Freight environment.
