- Develop and implement strategies for the Freight Division in South Africa
- Build and maintain relationships with carriers, agents, and suppliers.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor and analyse market trends and industry developments.
- Develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
- Hire, train, and manage a team of freight forwarding professionals.
Skills and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, with experience in multimodal freight exports and imports
- Strong knowledge of international logistics, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience in negotiating contracts with carriers and suppliers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful business strategies.
