Key Purpose

As a driver at SAB, you will be the final link in our supply chain, ensuring our high-quality products are delivered to our customers safely, efficiently, and on time. You will represent our company values with every delivery, providing exceptional service that strengthens our customer relationships.

Key Duties Responsibilities

  • Safe Vehicle Operation: Safely and professionally operate a company delivery vehicle (e.g., rigid truck) in compliance with all traffic laws, company policies, and the AB InBev Driver Safety Standards.
  • Customer Delivery & Service: Execute timely and accurate deliveries to a designated route of customers, including pubs, taverns, restaurants, and retail outlets.
  • Loading & Offloading: Physically handle and offload products, which may include kegs, cases, and crates, using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment like hand trolleys.
  • Stock Management: Conduct accurate stock counts, manage delivery documentation (waybills, invoices), and obtain customer signatures for proof of delivery.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects, damage, or maintenance issues immediately.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with customers, acting as a brand ambassador for SAB.
  • Administration: Ensure all delivery and return paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential:
    • A valid South African Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
    • An excellent, verifiable driving record.
  • Advantageous:
    • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
    • Experience with electronic logging devices and on-board tracking systems.
    • Basic mechanical knowledge.

The DynamX Logistics Traineeship grows and develops graduates by building functional & technical capability within the Logistics department (Warehouse, Inventory & Distribution).
About the Program:
  • A competitive program which is made up is made up of incremental fixed term contracts that accumulate to 24 months in duration and Robust evaluations determine progression into each phase of the program within 24 months.
  • Unleashes potential through 6-month rotational cycles and enables cross functional work experience in various teams within the respective function
  • The Program works on the 70-20-10 rule, where individuals learn 70% of their knowledge from challenging experiences and projects, 20% from developmental relationships, and 10% from coursework and training and After a successful 24 months of continuous growth and completion of the program, you will be able to apply for roles within the business to create a future with more cheers with us!

Profile
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in relevant areas such as Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and no more than 2 years TOTAL of full-time formal working experience by the program start date. (Internship, vacation work, short-duration contracts and  does not apply)
  • By program start, completed a bachelor’s degree (from a recognized tertiary institution), achieved within the requisite  timeframe.
  • Legal work authorization (full citizenship) in the country
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems
