To succeed in this role, candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:
NQF Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
PSIRA Grades E, D, and C certification.
Basic communication skills (verbal & written)
Client liaison experience or ability to interact professionally
Basic security training and knowledge
Understanding of:
  • Firefighting equipment
  • Emergency evacuation procedures

Key Responsibilities: Protecting What Matters

As a Security Officer, your primary role is to ensure the safety and security of the Pretoria Regional Office. Your presence helps create a secure and professional environment for employees, visitors, and stakeholders.

Access Control & Monitoring

  • Conduct strict access control at entry and exit points.
  • Verify the identification of employees, visitors, and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all movements within the premises.
  • Monitor suspicious activity and respond quickly.

Patrols & Surveillance

  • Perform regular patrols around the building and surrounding areas.
  • Identify and report security risks or unusual behaviour.
  • Escort visitors or personnel when required.
  • Ensure all areas remain safe and secure at all times.

Client Relations & Communication

  • Act as a professional link between security and the public
  • Assist visitors with directions and general queries.
  • Maintain a calm and respectful attitude in all interactions.
  • Build trust with staff, visitors, and suppliers.

Security Administration Support

  • Assist with documentation related to security operations.
  • Support the implementation of security policies and procedures.
  • Report incidents, breaches, or risks promptly
  • Work closely with management to improve security processes.
