Minimum requirements:
Higher Certificate (Grade 12)
National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Safety and Health/Environmental Health/Engineering
SAMTRAC related field
Code 08 Driver’s license

Key Performance Areas:
Ensure that the Security Audit Functions are carried out for the institution in compliance with
Occupational Health and Safety Law, 85 of 1993
Participate in the design and implementation of training programs in Health and Safety,
orientation and induction and ensure that safety committees and safety representatives
they are in place.
Ensure that quality audit functions are performed for the Institution.
Ensure that security statistics are analyzed, interpreted, reported and captured.
Ensure preventive management of possible situations that may lead to
injury/disability or death of staff members or visitors.
Management and prevention of internal disasters.
Ensure the performance of delegated management and administration functions
timely and correctly for Health and Safety to work in the hospital.
Assist in the compilation of all Health and Safety Manuals and Protocols to be used by
Hospital.
Identify, measure and control potential hazards and risks at work
place related to Health and Safety and environmental aspects
within the broad context of preventing injury, illness and degradation of
atmosphere.
Attend Disaster Management Committee, construction site meetings and all other
relevant meetings.
Demonstrate a basic understanding of human resources and financial policies and procedures.
