General Assistant

Description

Make sure there a comprehensive client service in the store. Loading and merchandising of stock, shelf price labeling, and housekeeping within designated areas of responsibility.

The Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or a minimum of one year of work-related experience and the ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is available, as well as the ability to perform basic calculations accurately
  • Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays and be able to work under pressure

Job Description

Customer Service

  • Acknowledge all Clients and determine their needs, advise Clients correctly on the product, and assist Clients with any product queries and Client complaints in a timely manner.
  • Add on sales, e.g. paint vs. paint brushes, thinners, etc and make sure efficient Customer service by ensuring that Clients’ purchases are loaded without any delays
  • make sure Client’s purchases are loaded carefully without damaging the goods or the Client’s vehicle
  • Advise customers on the additional services provided: Delivery service/bulk deposits, Glass cutting, Plan reading, Credit programs, Special orders, Trusses, Distant ordering, VIC Customer Programme
  • Must be certified in Product Knowledge and be available in the aisle of responsibility

Housekeeping

  • Make sure that your area is free of obstacles, that stock is merchandised immediately after being received, and that customers can enter and leave your aisle without any risk of injury or irritation. Correct shelf price labeling is within the area of responsibility.
  • Make sure the Checklist is completed as required when on duty with the Canteen and Toilet / Shower schedule

Safety (OHSA) Requirements

  • Safety (OHSA) compliance (e.g., use of safety gear, ensuring client and staff safety) within the area of responsibility make sure area of responsibility (racking and bulk) stock merchandise are safe for Clients and Colleagues to move safely within the store, and Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager
  • Adhere to Ready for Business and Beyond My Control as per the CB Way

Loss Prevention and Security

  • Identify any gaps in the displays, investigate causes, and report any management concerns, Be aware of suspicious behaviors or people and report any suspicions to management No product is to be loaded for a Customer without proof of purchase or required documentation. Apply Online Here

 

 

Trainee Store Manager

Description     

Protect and grow profitable market share within a Store by the Store, Division, and Company strategy

Minimum Requirement

  • Grade 12 with at least 2 (two) years retail management experience
  • Valid Drivers license, ID, or valid work permit (local)
  • Must have strong accounting skills be able to work under pressure and be computer literate (Basic computer literacy) have strong leadership skills have strong administrative skills have own transport and cell phone and should have sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with local (OHSA) and/or neighboring country legislation and have strong Human Resources skills

Strategic Management    

  • Help the Store Manager develop, implement, and manage a Store Business Plan for the store, confirming it is aligned with the overall Business strategy and strategic initiatives as approved by the Divisional Manager and Operations Manager from time to time

Grow and Protect Market Share      

  • Help the Store manager achieve growth in market share in your Store as defined in the strategy plan Help the Store manager achieve sales budgets and growth objectives by Category
  • Help the Store manager promote customer loyalty programs (e.g. VIC, charge cards, etc) and help the store manager manage the distribution of advertising material to ensure maximum efficiency, Help the Store manager develop action plans proactively to protect the market where you trade when competitors enter the market

Customer Service 

  • Help the Store Manager with implementing and monitoring the Client Service strategy Help the Store manager maintain client Audits above 95% Help the Store Manager with a reliable, prompt Client Delivery service, and help the Store manager grow and maintain the VIC client base
  • Help the Store manager achieve Transaction budgets and recommend Range improvements to suit the market Help the Store manager take action on Client Surveys (implement action plans when required). Asset Control: Stock and Help the Store manager manage and control shrinkage within the Store
  • Help the Store Manager manage the PIC process, the Store Manager manage wall-to-wall Stocktake, and the Store manager manage and control stock movement inside the store
  • End Control, IBT’s, Client Returns, and Receiving.
  • Help the Store manager manage damaged, Obsolete, and slow-moving stock items; analyze security requirements, and implement change; and manage and maintain physical measures 

 

Asset Control: Cash and Asset Control: Fixed Assets    

 

  • Help the Store manager manage Debtors and RD Cheques within the Store the Store Manager manages Petty Cash the Store Manager to manage daily Banking the Store Manager to manage Shorts and overs and the Store Manager to manage Cheques and Credit Cards
  • Help the Store Manager with the maintenance and protection of racking and displays and the Store Manager’s maintenance and protection of signage (internal & external)
  • Help the Store Manager maintain the forklift and generator, the Store manager maintain and protect IT Equipment and Telephone systems and the Store manager maintain and protect the Safe. Apply Online Here
